As we know a lot of people, institutes, companies are taking majors for a better environment; enormous activities undertaken under campaign “Go Green”. One of the steps taken by most of companies and banking institutes is offering online statements instead of printed ones; thus preventing paper wastage. However in my experience for all these online statements, I had to “opt” for this option else I would receive the printed statement.
I always felt it unnecessary and was not able to understand why these companies/institutes leave it for the choice of user; isn’t it just transferring your responsibility to someone else?
The only exception I came across is Sundaram-BNPParibas… today I got mail which offers online statements by default and if I wish to get a printed statement then I need to submit a request… now that’s a true step towards “Go Green”. Three kudos to Sundaram-BNPParibas.
